The Area
A shiny and ethereal kitchen in architect Mark Bearak’s T-shaped residence in Hudson, in collaboration with Aston Smith of Bilotta Kitchens of NY.
The Focus
“You need the kitchen to be a backdrop. You don’t need to compete with the surface; you need to be in concord with the surface,” says designer Aston Smith. The glass partitions that encompass the kitchen blur the road between open air and indoors, together with the cautious integration of varied sorts of pure wooden, like the guts pine on the ceiling and walnut discovered on the island and wall cupboards.
